Caleb Village in Kindersley has a fascinating history. Let’s go back in time to see how it all began…………
It was in early 2006 and steering committee members, including Ron Baker and Garry Hamilton, were working on attracting a developer for a seniors’ residence in Kindersley as they knew the interest and need was there. The steering committee was tenacious in their approach to the Caleb Group in Saskatoon about developing a seniors’ complex here in Kindersley. Caleb Group is a firm specializing in retirement property development.
Fortunately, there were others who stood up and helped to make it happen. Synergy Credit Union was a huge supporter of the project as well as Garry Hamilton, who was the chair of the Kindersley seniors housing committee. He was one of those people who really was a driver of the Caleb Village construction. He knew, as did many others, that this is what Kindersley needed. Mayor John Boquist and the Town Council were also heavily involved. There were SO many contributions from SO many people that it is hard to list them all.
I sat down with Caleb Village GM, Nancy Vanthuyne, and we chatted about how it all happened. A project of this size requires many hours of meetings and planning that sometimes you wonder if it will all come together. Well with dedicated people it certainly does come together.
