School Bus Crash on Highway North of Calgary Leaves 5 Children, 1 Adult Injured

On Monday morning, a school bus, on it’s way to a field trip carrying nine students and two teachers rolled off the road in an incident on Highway 2A at Township Road 320, as reported by Didsbury RCMP. The incident occurred around 10:20 a.m.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) swiftly responded to the scene just before 10:30 a.m. The bus, at the time of the collision, was occupied by nine students, two teachers, and the driver. Six individuals sustained injuries, with some being of a serious nature, although none were life-threatening. These injured individuals were subsequently transported to various hospitals via ground ambulance.

The school authorities have reached out to the families of those on the bus to provide information and support.

The preliminary assessment by the police suggests that poor road conditions may have played a role in the accident. However, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact causes of the collision.
