Thieves Steal Cargo Trailer Equipped with Tracking Software
Saskatoon RCMP recently shared that two men got more charges than they bargained for after a cargo trailer they stole on Friday night was equipped with tracking software.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., October 21, patrol officers attended to what should have been an unoccupied warehouse in the 800 block of 43rd Street East after being informed that a stolen trailer was inside being dismantled for parts. When officers arrived on the scene, they noticed the lock to the main gate had been cut and the door into the building was ajar. When officers entered the building, they found a man in the process of dismantling the cargo trailer and another man inside a recreational vehicle-type trailer. Both were arrested. Through further investigation, officers noticed tools scattered in various spots and a significant amount of damage throughout the entire property.
The two men, ages 32 and 42, are charged with Break and Enter and Mischief Over $5000, Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000, and Mischief Over $5000.
