Sask. RCMP Fine Driver $1,246 For Speeding

The Saskatchewan RCMP recently shared on social media that a driver was caught going 190 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone on a highway near Humboldt – resulting in a fine of $1,246 and their vehicle impounded for 7 days.

Starting May 1, 2024, the Saskatchewan RCMP want to remind drivers that if they’re caught speeding excessively (50 km/h or more, over the speed limit), stunting, or racing – they will be faced with stiffer penalties such as a 30-day vehicle impoundment, an immediate 7-day licence suspension, and fines.

Please slow down and obey the speed limits – they’re in place for a reason. Excessive speeds can be dangerous for you, your fellow drivers and gives everyone less time to react to potential poor road conditions.
