Obituaries: Charlie Christal
It is with heavy hearts the family of Charles Richard Christal announce his passing at West Highlands Good Samaritan in Lethbridge, Alberta on December 24th, 2023 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of Gloria Christal, together for 45 years. Loving father to Dauna Christal (Graham) and Jim Christal (Christine) of Medicine Hat, Alberta. Stepdad to Darcy Schreiner of B.C. and Holly Nunweiler (Shane) of Lethbridge, Alberta. Grandfather to eleven grandchildren: Kim Dick, Kelly Dick, Jennifer Christal, Brittany Christal, Devin Christal, Racquel Jacobs, Brent Nunweiler, Amber Martin, Christina Schreiner, Courtney Schreiner, and Alaina Schreiner. Great-grandfather to 19 great-grandchildren. Charlie was predeceased by his mom, Beulah, and dad, Oscar Christal, his first wife Laura Christal (Jones), and his three brothers Kenneth, Robert and Raymond Christal.
Charlie was born in Kansas City, Missouri on February 11, 1929. Farming was his passion. He could fix just about anything related to plumbing, carpentry and farm machinery. You name it, he could do it. He enjoyed hockey, curling and golf. Holidays in Hawaii, Arizona, Mexico and trips to the lake were his preferred getaways. Forever in our hearts.
Internment at a later date in Kindersley, Saskatchewan with immediate family.
