Goose Festival Wrap up
The downtown of Kindersley, SK was a raucous place to be on Saturday, Sept 23rd. The 2023 Goose Festival was in full swing with 4 food trucks, a climbing wall, barrel train rides for the kids, rubber ducks floating in a pool of water, a plinko game set up at the TD Bank, popcorn popping, pulled pork on a bun, bbq burgers and pies, a main stage featuring local musicians, Philippine food at Swirl Café, a motorcycle show and shine plus a car, truck and snowmobile show, Dakota Buttar having a meet & greet, AND the biggest freakin’ parade in the history of the Goose Festival!
It was pure pandemonium and an andrenalin rush because of all the activities going on. For the 3rd year in a row the weather cooperated and the people of Kindersley and area came out to shop, play and interact with each other and really just enjoy a great day with friends and family.
The parade was amazing with over 50 entrants and much imagination went into dressing up some of the floats. 1st place went to TKC, 2nd went to the Kindersley Filipino Community and 3rd went to the Barbie float done by Kindersley Event and Party Supplies and 3rd. Much candy was given out to many children and even some adults! All 4 of the food trucks did a brisk business and satiated many appetites. Even Kevin and Ron found time to do a quick video.
All in all it was a very successful Goose Festival. Will the weather cooperate next year? Only 361 days to find out. Would you like to see anything new at the next year’s festival? Don’t be shy and let the Chamber of Commerce know. Thank you to EVERYONE who participated in the parade, ALL the volunteers who helped out, the Rotary Club for doing the parade security, all the car show entrants and to everyone who came out to support the town and activities. This festival is only a success because of the support from the towns folk and our surrounding area.
