KAWS: Don’t Forget, We Are Looking for Foster Homes
We’ve just had an influx of kittens recently and we are bursting at the seams!
We currently have 2 mother cats with newborn babies, one pregnant mother that is due any day, and 2 litters of kittens 5-8 weeks old. AND we keep getting calls for more homeless kittens that are in need! We are going to have to start turning them away as we have run out of foster homes.
If you have ever thought about fostering, now is the time! Kittens don’t need a lot of space, even a spare room will be more than sufficient (some of our foster homes have dedicated “kitten rooms”). We have homes that can care for pregnant mommas, newborns & bottle babies, however, once the kittens are old enough, we won’t have anywhere for them to go. That’s where you come in! We need of fosters for orphaned kittens that are old enough to eat on their own (4-5 weeks+) and kittens that have been weaned from their moms (7-8 weeks+). We are also always in need of fosters for older kittens (2 months+).
We will provide you with everything you need to take care of them! We do, however, require you to be able to get them to their required vet appointments (younger kittens will need their shots at 8, 12 & 16 weeks), and sometimes there are circumstances that arise when you would need to take them in to get checked out. We use the Kindersley Vet Clinic. For this reason, we would prefer that you live around the Kindersley area, but may make an exception if you live a little further away and are still able to get them to Kindersley for their appointments. We *may* consider foster homes around Saskatoon if we are in a pinch and can’t find a foster any closer, as we do also use Corman Park Vet as well.
If you aren’t an approved foster home already, please visit our website @ www.kaws.ca/fostering.html and fill out an application!
