Rosetown Fire Department Holding Food Drive

On Sunday, October 4th, the Rosetown Fire Department will be running a curbside food drive in order to support the Rosetown Food Bank. Last April, the crew saw a huge amount of support from the local public and they are hoping this food drive will see the same amount of success.

Beginning at 11:00 a.m., the crew will begin picking up items from residents curbsides or front steps in order to comply with social distancing guidelines. “We’ve asked residents to place the items on their front steps. For those worried they might get missed they can text my cell and we will make sure someone comes by and picks it up,” says Captain Duayne Leys of the Rosetown Fire Department. The number to text is 306-831-8987.

Currently, the Food Bank is in need of dry pasta, coffee, peanut butter, cereal, juice, pasta sauce, and canned fruit. Cash or check donations are also welcome.

In addition to the food drive, the Department is also currently recruiting highly motivated individuals to join their team. “We are down some members, some have retired, some have moved and some have moved so we are looking for new members,” says Leys.

If you are interested in joining an amazing team and helping those in need, you can contact any of your local Rosetown firefighters or send them a message via Facebook for an application form.
